Pralaya Yoga Level I and Active Yoga Level I are beginning level classes that work with sequences of standing poses, forward bends, seated and reclined twists, and arm and leg strengthening exercises to develop both physical and energetic alignment, with watchful presence in the moment. Pralaya Yoga challenges alignment by using INTENSITY in a pose to draw out your maximum level of alertness. Because the breath is essential to this process, a deep appreciation for the breath (for life!) is cultivated as you practice. Knowledge of yoga is not necessary and beginners are welcome.
Pralaya Yoga Level II and Active Yoga Level II are intermediate level yoga classes for experienced beginners or more advanced students. These classes focus on learning techniques to master some of the more difficult yoga poses including inversions, arm balances, and backbends. All are welcome and techniques can be modified to suit the less advanced student.
Qigong (Chi-Kung) is a Chinese internal art and meditative energy practice that incorporates breathing, concentration and movements. It is similar to Tai Chi in its look and feel, and is practiced to develop and learn control of energy. Qigong enhances overall health, vitality, and energy levels and is beneficial to all ages.
Yoga classes at the Houstonian Lite locations, downtown- Pennzoil Plaza and Wells Fargo - are open to the general public and can be taken for a class fee on a drop-in basis. Membership to the club is not required. Please contact Julie in advance to make arrangements before dropping into a class.
